I recently had a chance to spend a beautiful summer morning with Dalila and Jesse. They are expecting their first born Ethan on September 16. We had this photo session scheduled for a cooler time in the year but you know how Texas is. And, with the due date creeping up, we had to make it happen. I've known Jesse for several years. He is quite possibly the kindest person I know. Always so generous and I cannot be happier to see him get the ultimate blessing of becoming a father. Both You and Dalila were a pleasure to photograph and I enjoyed all of our time together. I wanted to highlight the image above. We found this really cool room in The Cresent Hotel and after a long morning in the sun, a new energy formed and it showed in all of our faces. Such a wonderful couple. I'll be seeing you soon.
I recently had the privilege of celebrating Tricia and Rich at their 50th wedding anniversary. I met them through their son Chris, who I have worked with for many years. What made this such a special occasion was being able to see where these two love birds have been over the past 50 years. Their lives have been truly full and I felt the love throughout the wonderful building we got to celebrate in. Family and friends filled the room topped with two wonderful sets of live music. I am greatly humbled to have been a part of your wonderful story. God has truly blessed you all!
Around about two weeks ago, I found myself in this empty space of hopelessness. I had scheduled a midweek shoot with Tais and Matt but the rains were unrelenting and would not stop. We decided to reschedule to a Sunday, the only day that the weather app promised a little sliver of sunshine. That little sliver turned out to be a gorgeous day. Probably the best day we will have in Texas all spring. That all transformed into the photographs we captured. The flow of the day came so easily and I can't tell you how enjoyable it was to have these two in front of my cameras all day. From train station to food fight, they left me in awe and in love with what we created. The image above was one of my favorites. You get to see their connection on a more intimate but yet so quiet level. This was how it felt all day. Loud all around but a peaceful quiet cuddled the two of them throughout. The day was perfect.
I met Matt roughly five years ago and we have been great friends since then. I've always enjoyed his company and his creative nature in all things life. When he told me about Susanna I was beyond happy that he found the woman that he always dreamed about. She is the sweetest person ever! When we began our journey together I enjoyed all the time we spent putting together your big day. My favorite thing about the two of you is how well you play off of each other. That, in many ways is a photographer's dream. This was my third visit to San Antonio and I thoroughly enjoyed every part of it. Your families were so kind and helped with the flow of the day. Thank you All.
Even though it was a short day, we will always have these moments to remember a wonderful coming together. I chose to start with the image above because it was the moment when I felt Matt and Sus became one during the ceremony. Her smile took center stage and hearing Matt's voice shaking while saying his vows brought everything around full circle. For me, it was magical. Perfect. Love you both.
After the final edit, I always try and choose one image from the entire reel that defines our whole experience together. This, like all other times, was not much easier. We had so many wonderful moments. Tears galore. All happy tears of course. The only sad ones were my own, as the day was flying by much too fast. I chose this still above because it was the loudest to me. Every time I looked at it, it reminded me of all the conversations I've had with Melissa and Jay and what they say and feel about one another. No in between, just an abundant joyous love that words cannot explain. So naturally, I used a photograph.
Our journey goes back many years when we would joke about Melissa's "Big Day". Sandy and the crew know ;). I, of course always told her it was right around the corner and when it finally did come, I was beyond privileged to have the best seat in the house. Jay is one the kindest people I've ever met. His laugh is contagious but what gets you is his spirit. Overflows with joy constantly. Melissa is perfect. Even kinder and heartwarming to be around. Thank you both for opening this door for me to spend such a fun day with your families and friends. Tennessee, my second home was a perfect destination. God Bless your marriage daily. Love Always.
My heart is full. I cannot think of of better way to have started my wedding season. After coming across the sweetest email in my inbox from Rikki and Kendall about photographing their wedding at Chapel Creek Ranch, I could not resist. I fell even more in love with them when we met over dinner. I continue to be blown away at how the most amazing people find me and I get to share their stories with them. I particularly felt honored to do this wedding because it was the first ever major wedding at Chapel Creek Ranch. An incredible brand new venue in the Denton, Texas area. I have no doubt this place is going to be one of the best in the state very soon. Courtney and the rest of the venue staff are wonderful people. I wish you all a prosperous journey. You deserve it. To all the family members, who were so kind and let me invade their private space, Thank You All. When all the nerves we had about the weather and having to switch from outside to inside if it rained were cleared, the day was perfect. Kendall, your heart spilled all over and seeing your kindness and how willing you were to help everyone get organized, on your big day, was a lesson in love. Rikki, your spirit throughout the day, matched with your sweet smile and joy was the highlight of this entire reel of photographs. The above photograph captured all of that for me. A simple thank you will never be enough. I look forward to seeing you grow older together and do life together. Love y'all!
As we arrived, got ready to start, it started raining. Thankfully it stopped for a good thirty minutes and we got to work. Kathryn and Evan were such great sports. Also probably the sweetest couple I have ever spent time with on a rainy Saturday afternoon. With the newest member of the Burton family almost here, Hansel Ira is in for a real treat with these two. I pray that your family remains abundantly blessed and showered with His Grace.( No pun intended). I chose this image above to start the reel. I don't know if it was because it's my favorite Black and White filter or just simply because it makes me feel warm inside. Either way, you both are perfection! Love you guys.
I met Kat and Gabe through another one of my favorite couples, Magali and Josh. They had a wonderful time at Josh and Magali's wedding and I knew their big day would be just as fun. Over time leading up to their wedding we have managed to craft a wonderful friendship. I truly appreciate you both and your families. I felt so welcomed and among friends with all of your crazy guests. Throughout the whole day I was trying to compose one particular moment that would always remind me of the day. There were plenty. However, the alone time and brief moments I spent with each of you individually brought a lot of joy to me and reminded me why I love doing what I do. You are both an inspiration and have with no doubt left some huge footprints in my heart. The House of Blues was a pure delight and those dark ambient rooms had a brighter glow because of the two of you. We did it. I'll see you soon :)
Magali and Josh became family long before we spent the wedding day together. The energy leading up to the day was so calm. They are both very welcoming and an absolute joy to be around. I made sure I took the time to soak up all the laughs as well as the quiet moments because I knew I would miss seeing them in front of my camera. Both the families have huge hearts and I felt incredibly welcome. I chose to start the reel with this image above because of all the moments I saw Magali in her dress, this was my favorite moment. She is literally floating. Here's to a wonderful couple, my friends, Magali and Josh Readmon.
